From the very beginning in 1990 and with just five cars, we wanted to do things differently. We realised there was an opportunity to offer a Taxi service that was above and beyond what was normally expected.
Sleeping on the floor in our office between calls we jumped up whenever the phone rang and made straight out to our waiting customers. That dedication to service ensured that by 1997 our fleet had grown to 30 vehicles.
Fast forward to 2009 and we expanded operations into Lytham St Annes with the acquisition of 'Fylde Taxis'. We rebranded it as Premier 711111. This ended the monopoloy in the area and brought in some much needed competition.
In 2015 we wanted to do our bit for the people of Blackpool and Lytham St Annes. So in 2015 we introduced the area's first 100% Electric Taxis.
Off the back of the success of our Electric Taxis our focus is now on using environmentally friendly vehicles only. To prove we were committed to the cause in September 2018 we banned the use of all Diesel vehicles on our fleet. We now operate Hybrid Electric or 100% Electric vehicles only.
In addition we are proud to say that the electricity we use to charge our 100% Electric Taxi fleet comes from renewable energy sources, including, Hydro, Wind and Solar.
We remain at the forefront of technology and innovation. Over the years we've been the first to introduce the UK's first data system, GPS vehicle tracking, in car card, Contactless and Apple Pay payments along with being the first to introduce Taxi booking apps to the area.
In October 2020 we were awarded the appropriate license to operate from within Wyre Borough. This means we are the only company in the area licensed to operate from within the boundaries of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Councils!

Following a successful trial in 2014, Premier now operate the largest fleet of 100% Electric Taxis in the United Kingdom.
With air pollution being a major concern in towns throughout the country, we believe these pure electric vehicles are helping to make a real difference to the people of Blackpool and the surrounding areas.
To date around 70% of our journeys are now Zero Emission.
In September 2018 all diesel vehicles were removed from our fleets covering both Blackpool & Lytham St Annes' areas!
To ensure we meet our customers needs we also have the largest fleet of Hybrid Electric vehicles in the area.
We use these vehicles for everyday local journeys, nationwide and airport journeys.

We're now licensed to operate from within Wyre Borough Council Areas. As a result we've rebranded as simply PREMIER as opposed to Premier 401000 & Premier 711111. A customer is now only required to use one number to contact us 01253401000 due to a change in local licensing conditions.

These are challenging times for us all - We've been working with our existing customers and community leaders in order to provide a continued and enhanced service to those in need. The business has been impacted by significant financial losses, however, we remain focused on service and doing what is right. We've signed up to various scehemes to help the community including food bank deliveries, charitable donations and enhanced safety precautions.
While 2020 is not what anybody had planned, all we can do is plan for 2021 as we remain in a strong position to bounce back!

We have partnered again with Autocab based in Manchester to further improve our offering to customers and drivers. Part of the package includes analytics allowing us to see how we can continue to further improve our business and service.

To show our commitment to the environment we removed all diesel vehicles from our fleet, across Blackpool, Lytham and St Annes.

Introduced the first fleet of Hybrid Taxis in Lytham & St Annes which further increases our green credentials. We estimate that through the introduction of these vehicles we will slash harmful emissions and help to improve air quality.

Owing to their great success and in line with driver demand within just a few short months we introduced more Nissan Leaf electric taxis to our fleet.
